Luksta

It all started back when I was 14 years old and I got hooked on the early warehouse and acid house sounds. I managed to get hold of some mis-matched belt drives and a shoddy mixer. From then, I started to play everywhere I could; house parties, barns, raves and so on.

Soon I upgraded to the industry standard turntables and things improved. I scored gigs in pre-club pubs and bars. From there, I got into local club warm-ups, playing around the north west.

When I moved to France for the snow I got myself residencies at the resort clubs – El Poncho’s, Dick’s Tea Bar, The Loft and Inferno whilst also playing at the big free parties away up in the mountains. I played at ski and board competitions and events all around the Alps, with a lot of my peers including K-Klass, Fat Boy Slim, Krafty Kutts, Scott Nixon to name a few.  Playing at the bottom of the Bomb comp park half pipe competition is something I will always cherish.

Eventually I left the scene and got married and started a family here at home in Lancashire. Ten years passed, and the digital revolution had picked up with immense speed. I found myself loving it all again. I bought a controller and embraced the massive new wave of technology that had become so readily available. I became a full time DJ on Househeads Radio, which was the perfect way to blend family life with being a DJ.

After a couple of years on the Househeads radio station, I felt ready to take my DJ career up a notch. I started playing out at clubs and parties again with NG promotions The Time Machine and Progress Underground. I reconnected with old friends and new contacts in the scene, and have been having a blast playing.

Now you can catch me on HouseHeads Radio every Friday from 10pm – 12am (UK time) for the Smoke & Mirrors show, full of the finest techno, piano, vocal and deep bass house and special guest DJs.
